Guidelines to Volunteering
- Anyone can volunteer—moms, dads, grandparents, friends...and
you DO NOT have to be a seller to volunteer.
- You need to sign up to be a volunteer by August 5, 2009 for
our Spring Sale.
- Volunteers are asked to participate in at least one shift
and/or participate in one of the items listed under “Post
Flyers” and “Trade Out Opportunities” .
- Please do not bring children while you are volunteering… NO
EXCEPTIONS. While we love children, we want them to be safe and
always supervised. Whether you volunteer for set up/tear down or
working the sale, it is not a safe/secure environment for small
children.
- Your job duties will depend on the number of volunteers and
where your help is needed.
- If you are a consignor and volunteer during drop off
times, we ask that you still reserve a separate time (not
during your scheduled shift) to drop off your items. It
would probably be most convenient to drop off your items ½
hour prior to your scheduled shift or ½ following your
scheduled shift.
All volunteers will receive a pass to attend the
presale—this pass will be mailed to you one week prior to
the VIP Pre-Sale Event. An email reminder will be sent to
you when the pass has been mailed. This pass will only be
good for the entry of one shopper---you must have the pass
with you to get in, sorry there will be no exceptions made!!
If you would like a guest to accompany you then they will
need to participate in the event as described in “What’s
involved in volunteering?” Or, if you are already
volunteering with us you could sign up for up to two
refreshments slots and receive a maximum to two VIP Pre-Sale
Event Guest Passes.
- Some shifts may require standing for a period of time
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, we want you to be comfy
- An apron will be provided for you to wear during your shift. This apron is required to be returned to
Mommy Swap Meet for other volunteers and future events.
- Please plan your regular meals around your work shift
- We are seeking out volunteers to help provide refreshments. However, you are more than welcome to bring any of your own snacks or drinks that you may need during your shift, all we ask is that food and drinks remain off of the sales floor to prevent staining any clothing. We will provide a special place for our valued volunteers to take scheduled breaks.
- We will also provide an area for volunteers where they can keep their personal belongings during their shift however,
Mommy Swap Meets will not be responsible for items that come up missing or damaged. It is recommended that you do not bring any valuables to the event.
- We have lots of shifts available and you can take turns with a friend….you can watch her kids while she works and she can watch your kids while you work. Then you can come shopping together for our VIP Pre-Sales Event!
Cancelation of Shifts/No Show to Shift
- If you find it necessary to call and cancel or reschedule your shift, please do so no later than 24-hours in advance of your shift.
- Consigning volunteers who are a “no call/no show” and/or who do not get their shift covered will reduce their earnings from
70%-75% to 50%. In addition you will become ineligible to volunteer and/or consign at any future
Mommy Swap Meet Event. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Volunteers who are not consigning with us who are “no call/no shows” and/or do not get their shifts covered will become ineligible to volunteer and/or consign at any future
Mommy Swap Meet Event. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- If you get your shift covered and your scheduled shift is worked then all other volunteer privileges will remain in tact.
